An egg already played a symbolic role in the Egyptian myth of Creation. Romans used eggs as a burial offering. The custom of giving eggs as gifts continues today, especially at Easter, the celebration of resurrection and the awakening of nature.
I decided to try creating a 3D Faberge style egg using cookie dough, an egg mold and a few random cookie cutters. The process has several steps, but I really love the multiple
techniques used from royal icing, rolled and covered fondant, hand-painting with food gels and of course various piping methods.
I'm thrilled with the end results!
